OUR BELIEFS
Our Faith Statements
The Bible – We believe the Bible to be the inspired, inerrant Word of God. The Bible is God’s word to all men. We believe that the original manuscripts were the dictates of “one directing Mind” (God), under the diversity of human dictation.
About God – There is one God manifested in three essential forms, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. (Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22; Psalms 90:2; Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:4; I Timothy 3:16.)
Salvation – We believe that a sinner is justified by faith in the atoning works of Jesus Christ; for by grace are we saved, through faith; and that not of ourselves: it is the gift from God. (Romans 5:1; Ephesians 2:8)
Water Baptism – We believe that a sinner is baptized into the body of Christ by the Holy Spirit when he repents and believes in the atoning works of Christ. This qualifies the believer to be baptized by immersion into water as an outward expression of his faith in Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 12:13, Romans 6:3&4, Act 2:38)
Holy Spirit – We believe that every believer should be baptized in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking with tongues. (John 7:37-39; Mark 16:17; Acts 2:4; Acts 10:44-46)
Communion – We believe that Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is an ordinance given to all believers by Jesus Christ to remember his sacrifice for us and to symbolize the new covenant.
Return of Christ – We believe in the soon coming return of Jesus Christ; that he will come in like manner as he was last seen going into heaven. His return is for the purpose of taking the saints with him to that place that he has prepared for them. (Acts 1:11; John 14:2)
Giving – All believers should support their local church with their tithes and sow offerings in support of the spreading of the gospel message.
